suppressor question
I was looking at suppressors for my P99 and ran across Thompson Machine suppressors. I really like the Poseidon. Anyone used or have one?
CENTERFIRE (PISTOL CALIBER) « Thompson Machine Thanks for any info....

Never heard of them. I am more familiar with these manufacturers:
GEMTECH Suppressors Online - Quiet things for quiet professionals. - GEMTECH Gun Silencers And Gun Suppressors from Silencerco R

Thanks I am just undecided, but I was drawn to the shorty Poseidon. I think it would look good on a future compact as well as my full size.

Thompson machine is a relatively new manufacturer in the silencer world, however they have come on very strong. I think they are based near Tallahassee, FL. Honestly you be better of doing your research at silencertalk.com. There is more silencer info there than anywhere on the net. One caveat though is they are pretty partial to AAC seeing as how the forum was started by some guys from AAC, and they make some of the best cans around.

If I didn't already own an Osprey (and thus already own a couple pistons for it), my short list would be like this if I was only looking to suppress 9mm. Adding 45 would move the Osprey45 up quite a bit. AAC TiRant9 AAC Evo9 Silencerco Osprey 9 Silencerco Octante 9 Silencerco Osprey 45 AAC TiRant 9S I'd avoid Gemtech as their line hasn't changed in years and is getting pretty stale. I'd skip small mfgs like Thompson because I do NOT skimp on NFA, it's a one time purchase with a crappy secondary market. Thompson and other mfgs like Liberty might not be around if you ever need service. That's just my personal opinion and personal buying habits. Others have had good luck with small mfgs. |
