I really like both the PPQ an the P99 AS and own a PPQ.
My Son has a P99 AS that tirned me onto Walther. I could easily go with either one for myself and they both are a dream to shoot - by far my favorite poly pistols. I bought the PPQ mainly because I was able to get it for $70 less than a P99 AS though I am extremely happy with it. I do see a P99 AS in my future also and it would probably be my preferred pistol for CCW if I can ever do such living in Illinois.

I like them both very much, but in no way the PPQ has displaced the P99 as my primary carry and Hd handgun. I think the PPQ is a great gun with a very good trigger, aimed at taking a serious stab at the huge base of Glock customers. For them, the PPQ represents a major evolution of the trigger and ergonomics of the G19.
I don't think it will make more than a dent unless Walther expands the range of available models for instance with a L version to compete against the G17. The PPS takes good care of the G26, but the trigger of the PPS is in no way as good as the one of the PPQ, it's just as gritty as a Glock initially. The P99 to me is aimed at people who are ready to deal with the increased complexity of the handgun in return for a more flexible and sofisticated system, which includes features such as a DA initial pull, a decocker, a round in the chamber indicator not found in any other gun. The PPQ is a demonstration that polymer guns don't need to come with a s***** trigger and look like a project from a 5th grader with a ruler. It's Walther saying "There! See? You have been had for all these years" to the Glock crowd. The P99 doesn't care at all about Glocks, it's way out there in another category altogether.

I own both, the P99 is an AS.
Grip: the PPQ wins out of the box. However, I followed a suggestion I read here and bought Talon grips for the P99 and I feel they improve them a lot. Accuracy: they are both as accurate as a gun size can be, extremely good job on that side. Recoil: a tad more for the PPQ but that's my personal impression.

Or, you can sell it to me. I will give it a good and loving home with my other two P99s and my PPQ.
