Absolutely. I can't believe I got a P99AS for that price. It's flawless, shoots well, and is really a very comfortable pistol IMHO. The PPS is good but a bit thin (which is one reason I bought it in the first place) and a bit harder to handle consistently. I love the paddle on each and think its dramatically better than the buttons on the alternatives I tried. Only button gun I have that I really like is my Hi Power.

Olstyn and PPS1980, thanks for the info on gunbroker and for the link. I had only been looking at buyout auctions which are quite a bit more. I'll keep an eye on that sellers auctions for a bit. Seems like the best way to go at this point. Since I will be paying shipping and transfer fee either way, may as well get the best price I can and your positive feedback for that seller goes a long way.
Thanks!!!!

Glad to be of help. Flawless process for me with them. I hope you can get as good a deal as several of us have over the past few months. Good luck!

The future of the P99...

I have a crystal ball my wife left behind when she moved out, but when I look into it, I see a resurgence of DA/SA triggers and thus, a resurgence of the P99. In my own use of the P99, I barely notice the DA first shot and I always start the mag in DA.

Kind of like the recent resurgence of single stack nines.

Like they say, history doesn't repeat, it rhymes.

An example: King Arthur, who is not considered historical - a figure who ebbs and flows, emerging from shadows, then again, recedes, depending on the needs of the time - once again, Arthur is reemerging (A Palace Was Unearthed Where Legend Places King Arthur's Birthplace | Smart News | Smithsonian).

And this is why an Ulfberht sword and bearded axe is in my edc rotation

Okay, so the bearded axe is really good for carving wood.

I must be odd. I definitely shoot the pps more accurately than I do my p99 or ppq. I use the large backstrap and talon grips on the S. I was ecstatic when I found my p99, I heard those rumors about the p99 being discontinued and was panicking. Glad that's a bust. Had my best score on the dot torture drill with the pps. I'm actually quite confused as to why it is so.

So where are they? Finding a full size 99 in 9mm is pretty darn hard. I have one, but am considering buying one to live NIB in my safe, they are so scarce.

In limited production from what I've heard. They will pop up again at some point.

Mig1 Unproven
It's about as bad as CZ. They ship in batches that tend to get snatched up quickly. At least as far as the premium models go. Just like CZ the entry level models tend to hang around.

Theres a "premium" and "entry" model P99? LOL Interesting. I must have gotten lucky when I got mine, it was like 500 bucks right off a dealer table at a gun show.
