15 rd mag in a P99c question

Thinking of getting a 15 rd mag for my P99c, has anybody used one without the adapter in theirs? Any problems with doing so such a jamming if pressure is applied to the mag.

i have no issues using it in mine. i did take an old POS reloader that they give you and cut it on the bandsaw to make my own sleeve. it is more of a protection so that you don't slam the mag up and damage the extractor/ejector whatever else the mag could hit. i just use for S and G's at the range though.

I agree.

The P99 mags are stopped from moving too high by the base plate impacting the frame. Without the base plate to stop the mag, I'd be concerned about the feed lips hitting the ejector.

I slam 15, 17, and 20 round mags in mine regularly. Walther makes a grip sleeve that makes your pistol look like a snubbier full size. I'll see if I have a picture.

I'm not sure why you'd want to use a longer magazine without the adapter. They only cost $20, and they work. In effect, they turn the P99C into a full-sized P99.

No issue at all...I have several pre-ban 16 round mags. I use with the extention.....

Do you slam them in without the spacer?

I don't think it is a good idea to do it without that spacer. If you take the slide off the frame of a P99c, and insert a full size mag without the spacer, where does it stop, and what stops it?

I'd imagine that if it is the ejector, you are putting a lot of stress on it which it was not designed to take, in a direction it wasn't designed to take it.

Even the "high cap" mags have a stopper built in so the grip sleeve/adapter/spacer/extension stops in place.

I no longer have my P99c, but when I examined it I believe I recall that the mag catch prevented over insertion of the mag. I use longer mags in my Glock 26 frequently.

One issue i do note is that due to cyclic speed, the compact is much more sensitive to weakening mag springs in the full-size mags. Weaker springs will cause malfunction in mags that work fine in a full size.

i don't slam mags into any of my guns. takes .5 sec to give an extra little push to hear the seat click and i'm back. if it is to slide lock, then i just normally insert, slingshot and back to biz. seen too many guys acting like Rambo or Jerry Miculek and slam mags in like they do and break something off. i don't have their sponsor to fix my guns! normal push is fine with me. plus, if i can't hit them with 10 rounds in my 99c with and extra mag, or my G19 or G17 that are all in my EDC rotation, then i need to go back to the range, not practice slamming mags in after running dry.
