Would anyone happen to know where or how I can check what a model number would be for specific Walthers? (Like a Walther P99 1st or 2nd gen with the 2 tone silver slides).

I see something like this Manufacturer Item #: WAP78011

And I know it varies between the guns if it's a 9mm or a .40sw, or if it's black or OD green frame, etc. It would definitely help narrow down my search, but I can't seem to find anything that will tell e what the titanium model number was.

I've been shopping around for a P99, yes the ones made in Germany (no S&W slide please) . The prices really vary. My collection needs some NEW blood in it badly though. Based on Uncut's entries on page two I better open my eyes.
I would also like the titanium slide but would settle for a NIB like 1st gen.

Best of luck to you.... of all the 1st gens I've been searching I haven't seen anything that was NIB or even like new... they've all shown some signs of wear.

Unless you want a comemorative P99 1st gen, the design that was black with the gold pinstriping around the gun, only 2000 made and I believe only 1000 or less in the states. I have seen quite a few of those popping up from $700 to $1200 and they are like NIB, with very little to no signs of wear.

The new second gen P99s (AS, QA) are 100% German made as well; they are only imported by Smith & Wesson. The differences between the first and second gens are purely cosmetic. There are even 1st gens with the "Smith & Wesson Springfield, MA" importation stamps right before the 2004 redesign.

I think there were a tiny batch of .40 second gen P99s that had US made slides (Lacking the "Eagle over N" mark), but after several complaints production went back solely to Germany.

If you want a NIB, never fired first gen P99 that badly, Earl's got plenty of 'em, but with a $1,000 price tag. Plus his P99s don't have importation stamps on the slide, but on the barrel if I'm not mistaken. If you wait around long enough, you should find a 95%+ condition first gen for half that price on GunBroker, that is if I don't beat you to it.

I own a P99AS 9mm BTW, I'm wanting a 9mm 1st gen so I can have the best of both worlds.

That one that uncut posted probably was the best deal I've ever seen on a titanium.

Earl's got them for $1,100...if you're that desperate for one...

Yeah it was... too bad I missed it too late.

I know Earl's has them but the day I spend $1000 on a gun I'm getting either a 1911 model or an FN Five-seveN (just to have "rifle" rounds in a handgun) lol.

Blasphemy. You wouldn't spend a grand for a nice P88 or a P88C? How about a pre-'68 PPK that's NIB with all the necessary trimmings? How about a nice 0-series P.38? I can think of a dozen or more absolutely lovely Walthers that I would gladly part with $1,000 or more for ... like a P5C and all the goodies, or a factory-engraved Walther PP, or a ...

That's different, lol. pre-'68 PPK would definitely be worth $1000, but I wouldn't necessarily spend that much on a 1999-2003 P99 :P

Well, truth be told, I'm with you on that, especially when there are nice versions of the P99 to be had for under $500.

Hey man, are you offering? (had to ask)
Seriously I do agree. Walther all the time, anytime.
