Oh forget it.

When is the last time you saw a really cheap (but really good) gun ON THE F-ING INTERNET?

You get only what you pay for, and in this case you are unlikely even to get that.

Anyone who fancifully imagines that the seller doesn't know what he has is too stupid to be player in this game.

^ What's with the negative/disparaging post? Many people buy guns online and this thread has good information in it for people who are new to buying/collecting these pistols. We're not all experts and many of us use this forum to seek constructive opinions and advice from experienced members when considering a purchase on a particular Walther.

The ONLY reason that particular P88 is getting so much attention here is because of its abnormally undermarket price.

Mike occasionally shares his opinions I would argue that the nice PP Super .380 that I bought on the internet three years ago for under $500 was a very good deal. As was the very nice Manurhin PPK/S Durgarde for $500, as was the...

Implying that you can't find good and underpriced guns on ~THE INTERNET~ is one of the funniest and most naïve things I've read on this forum.

I'll now see myself off Mike's lawn before I get whacked with his cane.

It's at least safe to say that for every close-to-a-bargain/good deal you find on the internet, you'll find a couple of dozen (or more) clunkers/non-bargains, and that rate seems to be growing in the wrong direction. At one time, a good many sites were known for offering interesting pistols/firearms at decent prices. Simpson's Ltd. comes to mind, as does Joe Salter's and Randy Bessler's Collector Firearms in Carson City. These days, you have to spend far more time looking, and far more money buying.
