Are P88Cs known for extractor issues?

I bought a P88 Compact from the local toy store this week and took it out to the range tonight. I put 50 rounds of Federal 115 grain ammunition through it. I also put 50 rounds of Speer Lawman 124 grain ammunition through it. I noticed that on one round per each box of ammunition, there was a failure to extract. I have been told that the pistol was brand new, as in never been fired outside of the factory. So I took her home, gave her a good cleaning and some much needed oil and will take her back out either tomorrow or Sunday, but was wondering if the P88 C was known for extractor issues?

Thanks

Any gun can have problems. I would not worry about it unless it happens again. If it does inspect the extractor for defects. If the extractor looks ok then replace the extractor spring.

The lack of a good cleaning and some much needed oil could have been the cause of you problem.

Now that its clean and oiled try er' again.

Ammo and magazines, magazines and ammo.

Looks like you tried a couple of different brands of ammo, which is a good thing.

Did you check the condition of the magazine(s) as well as the internals of the pistol?

Did you clean the inside of the magazine(s) thoroughly to ensure that there was no residual gunk left inside from storage?

Did you try shooting the pistol with the magazine(s) loaded at one round less than capacity?
