I don't disagree. But I still enjoy shooting the doggone thing, even if it has a few lazy touches/warts.

Is there a Walther model out there that is 'perfect', the P5 notwithstanding?

One of the SAO P88 Compacts (Competition or Champion) is pretty much peak Walther to me, despite the dumb safety location and alloy (not steel) frame.

Finally, now I understand.

Indeed, I've been hesitant to post anything negative about the P88, thinking that you guys would either jump on me and/or attack me for selling my beloved P5.

Now from what I'm reading, the P88 is not really the perfect end all to all. As I had posted in the past there were even a couple of things with the P5 that could have been better, such as a push button mag release and maybe double stack mags.

But aside from that try as I might I just can't seem to warm up to the P88, although not terrible its sorta like MGMike said it looks and feels like a cross between a S&W and a Ruger.

However, I must admit I have not yet found a P88C, so I'll keep looking.

I've had three P88's but I keep selling or trading them because the grip is like the end of a Louisville Slugger and I just can't hang on to it.

Contrast that with the grip on the HK USP45 Tactical. I have no problems at all with that pistol.

I do still love the P88 for it's accuracy, reliability, aesthetics, and ambidextrous operation.
