P88 Night Sights
Here are some pictures of my 1987 P88. It is new to me. It came with the sights you see, which appear to have been tritium night sights at one time. However they have long since gone dark. Are new sights available for this gun? Are tehse factory sights, or aftermarket? Does anyone know if I could send these ones to Trijicon and get new lamps put in them? They will do that with their sights, but I don't know if they made these ones, or if not, if they will do it to sights made by others.

Also I'm very much looking forward to any input about this matter as I'm desperately searching for aftermarket sights for my P88. As it is 1987 version with dovetailed front sight, replacing the latter should be no problem. Preferably fiber optic sights!

The forum's "sights expert" is Uncut. He's been in and out of late because of work. You gentlemen might want to send him a PM and ask your questions directly ... just a thought.

Those sights are factory sights, which had the tritium vials installed. Tooltech is a authorized Trijicon installer ..... they do night sights on almost all Walthers for the right price

Uncut, you don't happen to know about any dovetailed HiViz front sight that would fit my P88's slide ? Maybe a Beretta or Novak dovetailed front sight will fit (with some minor adjustments) ???

As a follow up, I sent the sights off my P88 to Trijicon with $54 and they installed new tritium vials in the sights, and marked them with the Trijicon logo and a "12" date code, showing the sights were new in 2012. The expense is greater if the sights/slide/whatever has to be drilled (that's the work Tooltech does), but if it is already drilled for night sights, they're just dead now, the cost to replace the vials with new ones is pretty reasonable. My searching for alternative sights for the P88 has been fruitless. It may be that sights for another gun will fit the dovetails, but I don't know that. The system that holds the rear sight in the gun is identical to that used in the P99, but I don't know if the dimensions are the same. The front sight for the P99 is obviously different than that on either version of the P88 (dovetailed front sight or integral with the slide).
