Piexcel,

I got the P210-4 because of my ties to Germany. As an expat, it is making me feel sentimental and warm and fuzzy to just look at the P210-4. Makes the beer taste better.

The P210-2 or a 49 model are as good and generally in better condition, the BGS had used the P210-4 from the early 1950s until they were sold in the late 1980s.

No question; variety in a collection is a wonderful thing. So is quality. Note the fact that I didn't suggest that you could get upwards of eight P22s for that money ... nor did I mention Bersa or Kel-Tec models, either. You guys seem comfortable with this model; have at it.

Searcher,

I am more than comfortable with this P210! I love it and adore it. Good balance, great trigger and workmanship. I have three guns that I shoot the most in my humble accumulation of handguns, first is probably the rimfire Korth, second the P210, third the Hämmerli Jägerschaftsmodell.

I want to get a nice over and under shotgun - or side by side - but after recovering financially, I would love to get again a Hämmerli 208 before my eyesight goes all the way south.

Well, I just purchased that P4 last month, which I still have to take to the range. I just spent a month away from home on business and returned a few days ago. For now I will just continue to save up some money. I did make that New Year's resolution to get a P210 this year...

What do you think of this?

The gun is nice but the bid starting at $3,550 and a buy-now price of $3,650 is rather high. It is the nicest looking P210-4 I have ever seen and the ones I have seen all had a dull finish and dull trigger and hammer with the loaded chamber indicator in a dull gray. The hammer block shows more bluing wear than the rest of the internals.

The P210-4 was built around 1952 and is a C&R weapon, by the way. It was issued and used for over 30 years.

You have me intrigued. Here's another from the same seller. The finish on this one doesn't seem as bright as the previous.

Buying one of these is going to set me back for awhile!

That one does look authentic! The other one ...well, I would pass it.

I would also pass that one. I will send you a PM to explain.

I have a SIG P210-6 and I absolutely love it. I just bought a Walther PPQ. What is the difference between the Walther P88 and the P88Compact? Other than it being a compact. ;-)

Here you go! I hope these attachments help. I tried to scan them to the best of my ability. It was either that or sitting and typing the entire text and use up about an hour. I scanned these from Gene Gangarosa's book "The Walther Handgun Story," which is a good reference for beginners. I don't understand why some of scans came out as JPEGs and others PDFs. If the files are too hard to read try downloading them and blowing them up using a picture viewer or Adobe Acrobat.
