What would be a good case for the P5 be?

The small plastic case the P5 (and the older PPK's) are very old school, and pale in comparison to the newer Walther cases. Which case could be used for the P5 now? I guess the generic PPK/s case could be used for it and see it available at Earl's. I was planning on putting some thin foam in the old style P5 case, but may just get the generic Walther case. What do you guys use?

I bought one of these in tan for my P5, mainly for TSA compliance inside my main airline bag. Excellent Pelican quality, but pricey.

Well I ended up ordering two for my P5 from Earls

I got the original (inferior) box to have on hand for completion sake (plus the cleaning rod), ($45+15)

And I wanted the generic PPX or PPK/S box, but he ended up sending a PPQ box. ($35)

I may end up modifying the foam in the PPQ box to better fit the P5 or simply replace the cut outs with egg carton foam.

I did add a thin foam layer to the older P5 box to give it SOME cushion, so if anyone needs a template, I have one I made and can email it.

I know it is not factory, but I really like the MTM Case-Guard plastic cases. I have been using them for many years. They are inexpensive and do a fine job of protecting your pistol during storage or transport.

Anything wrong with a plain old gun rug?
Protects the gun, takes up less space in the safe; save the factory boxes for sale or trade.

Can't stack a gun rug. I got a PPQ case for my 38.

Just nest the rugs up next to each other, tagged for what's in 'em. Takes up less space, and allows access without undoing the whole stack.
Works for me. YMMV.

LOL, the cases are stacked upright, not on top of each other. Like books in a bookshelf. And now you've given me an idea...

The final P5s were delivered in blue modern cases. These would be perfect if you don't like the old school black plastic boxes.
