Moon, I never commented on how beautiful your new 5 is,but wow man it goes without saying she is beautiful . My first 5 is a bmi imported by PW Arms also as is one of my PPK and my P-38 which also came with a black leather flapped holster and a cleaning kit which was retired military according to Gander Mountain from whom it was purchased . So maybe they have a deal with the German Government to import military surplus over here . I ramble , she's a beauty ,wish I had one just like her . Ayb

Thankee, Bob.
I appreciate the guidance here about it as well; I didn't want to get in too deep on something non-original.
It's truly nice enough to be impressive, but not so perfect as to discourage use. Really wasn't looking for it when I found it. A buddy has been on a roll of buying a nice specimen of anything, even if it doesn't fit a particular niche.

Sure is a good looker. I think bone grips would look excellent on it, or sambar.

I hate to go too crazy on grips; the OEM feel good, are in decent shape, and I don't want them any larger. I think faux ivory looks good on silver guns, tho' I doubt they exist.
Steve, she runs perfectly and shoots straight; I'll have to see if I can manage some bragging groups. The sights are big enough (and the 'dot the i') that it makes a good sight picture. The rear sight, thoughtfully, remains blued, and I brightened up the white paint.

Moon , thing of beauty is a joy forever ,she is a beauty .ebay has Hogue model specific scales for 22.00_25.00 in black . Did a search most grips are dark (walnut ) ,wood . Did find a lot of variety in P-38 though, but most have the lanyard loop hole ,but they did have pearl and ivory plastic Walther logged grips and bone . Best of luck in your search ,if I find any model specific grips I'll send up a flare . Ayb
