Well, I sold my P5 and P5C pistols and ALL my mags. BUT the P5 has a heel release and a corresponding little slot in the bottom rear of the mag. The P5C has a button release (not like LSP prototype P5C). The P5C mag has a goofy looking hole up high on the front/side of the mag, corresponding to the button release. In addition, I think ALL P5C mags have the slot on the bottom rear of the mag too....making a P5C mag work in a P5 or P5C.

So to put it simply, a P5 mag will only work in a P5.

A P5C mag will work in a P5 or P5C.

Okay, and thank you OF. That clears it up; was aware of the mag release change but had read that they interchanged and held the same number of rounds. Great explanation.
