Used P-5 holsters at Sportsman's Guide
Sportsman's Guide has used Walther P5 police holsters for $24.97 ($22.47 if you're a Buyer's Club member). They're listed on page 41 of the Spring 2012 Shooting Supplies catalog (#233100).

If it's a P5 holster, why isn't a P5 in it?

Good question. Apparently it will accommodate pistols other than P5s -- or at least one other pistol -- though that's just a guess.

That holster looks long enough to take an Artillery Luger....
If Sportsman's Guide were any stupider, they could patent the formula. M |

I have one of these exact holsters that came with my P5 Police trade-in. They fit the P5 like a glove and are very well made.
On the back of the holster they are dated. My has "84" "DBGM Angemeldet" with a Logo that looks like a Big H inside a circle with a double sided J through the H. Also says: "BUND" 1095-12-199-5620 on the back of the holster. |

hello friends,
Has anyone purchased accessories from The Sportsman's Guide? Looks like they have a decent selection and good prices, but I'm wondering if a lot of the customer reviews are fraudulent, because there seems to be a proliferation of the "Great product -- haven't tried it yet though" type comments, which are pretty useless. Either they coincidentally have a lot of people who are simply ecstatic about a shiny product arriving quickly and feel they're good to go on posting a review, or they have some very untalented shills posting just to generate positive reviews. thanks |

I've purchased a number of items from them. You have to be careful what you buy as they sometimes market junk, no different than Cheaper Than Dirt and other discount mail-order places. I will say their customer service is very good; I've never had a problem returning an item.

I've bought lots of stuff from them. Probably would buy even more if they didn't sell a lot of surplus items by the dozen. The sizing of surplus military clothing is vague, too. Hit or miss.
A better place to find a better holster for a P-5, however, is on eBay. Now and then a black leather thumbsnap holster with matching magazine pouch will show up. I'm referring to a concealed carry style holster; German made and marked for a P5. I also found a police style (almost a Jordan style) holster for a P5 with a thumb snap. That one was, I think, American made but marked for a P5. Both the Sportsman's Guide and eBay have mis-identified items but usually the photos are sufficient to inform you of what it really is. |

I bought one of these holsters, received it last night. Sorry for the picture quality, but I had to take it inside with a flash.
The holster is very well made, and was not worn much at all. I would rate it at very good to excellent condition. There was some dust from storage, but nothing else. It's a unique design, a swivel holster with a long shank. The two upper snaps hold the shank solidly; when unsnapped, the holster swivels for comfort when sitting down. If I recall correctly from the time I spent in Europe, the German police wore mid-length coats; this holster would put the gun below the hem of the jacket. The belt loop is for a 2 inch belt; it fits perfectly (and looks good) on a 2 inch black garrison belt I have. The gun fits snuggly, maybe even tightly, in the holster. This holster was not used much. The snap strap is different from US styles, this is definitely not a fast draw holster. Overall, this is a great valuse for less than $25.
