Question Walther p22 barrel switch from 5" to 3.42

Hi there i have a walther p22 its the older style and what i want to figure out is weather or not i can inner change my barrel which is the 5" to the 3.42 or 3.4 i think it is either way its not the CA version i have already complete dismantled the firearm and reassembled it no issues i just dont want there to be an issue when i go to the shorter barrel also if im not going to have any issues where can i find the barrel im looking for or even possibly trade for the one i have along with the compinsator that covers it any thoughts? let me know thank you

changing them is no problem. you may need to order directly from walther, but there should be a few places online that have the barrels.

if you have taken the barrel off already, you're good to go.

Both barrels mount exactly the same. Each barrel fits through the frame, each barrel has a barrel sleeve that fits over the barrel and each barrel uses the same barrel nut. The 5" barrel and sleeve is just longer. The rest of the pistol is exactly the same. The 5" also has a stabilizer that covers the end of the longer barrel that sticks out of the frame. Get the 3.4" barrel....You won't look back. M1911

Thanks alot for your imput i wasnt to sure weather or not id be able to do this or not i have had the walther awhile but its finally in my name so i can do what id like to it my plan for the pistol is to shorten the barrel put the thread addapter on it 1/2 28 tpi with a muzzle break lazer attachment and night sights and then once all that is done im gona take it to a local place none as robar industries that is a local refinishing place here in arizona and have them refinish the whole thing for me i cant wait for this fire arm to be done its going to be a peice ill never let go thanks again for cofirming that i could do the barrel switch once all is said and done ill post pics

That is a nice group of photos and shows the whole story. TANFOGLIO is a one percenter......takes all the good German pistols and leaves the rest of us 1%. Have a look at his recent pictures of P38s in the classic section if you haven't visited there. He has some real beauties. M1911
