I had this same problem and discovered that the picatinny rail is sticking on the stickers that I failed to remove on the inside of the laser as well as the plastic seam. I removed the stickers and filed the seam and it now works as intended - like a dream.

Sight Removal

Here's how I removed mine.

Steaming pile of garbage sight.

This was only after trying multiple different methods, starting with nice methods and advancing to a method utilizing vice grips. Just straight drilled through the lever hole with a medium drill bit in the end.

Good riddance.

Videmus, does the laser still work? Do the vertical and horizontal adjustments still work? If the answer to both questions is YES, i'd offer you a dollar for it.

Sight removal

The sight most definitely no longer works lol. But I was angry that it was proving such a pain and cheap quality.

Some people like lasers for target shooting. I don't. Fine for self defense but when target shooting I like the ole eyeball lookin' through somehting....red dot, scope or iron sights. On the other hand it might be that the newfangled contraptions show how much my hand is shaking......and I'm not ready to face that. M1911

The Viridian WP22 works well even in bright sunlight.
