Thanks guys for letting me know that I wasn't alone with this problem. I bought the P22 because I was tired of paying for .45, .38 and 9mm ammo.

Anybody else have any luck getting off their laser sight? I don't have lock-picking tools so that won't work for me. I tried some of the thinnest pieces of metal that I could find, but they just seemed to be pushing on the locking mechanism and bending. I just got this gun a couple of weeks ago and I would hate to have to send in the entire gun just for the laser. Any advise is greatly appreciated!

Send it in otherwise you just have a broken laser sight. It'll only take about two weeks. I know others who removed the site but why scratch up a new pistol. Call Smith and they'll send you a prepaid Fed-Ex pdf to use to ship it.

Thanks! That's what I am going to do. I traded a few emails with customer support and he already sent me a label. He said it was okay if I broke the sight because they were just going to replace it, but I pulled as hard as I felt comfortable and I couldn't get it to budge more than a millimeter. One thing for sure, that thing fits like a glove.

For anybody who may be looking at this thread- I just got back my gun from S&W. They replaced the stuck sight with the PK380 laser-sight. The material is a bit different, but it fits well and uses a standard screwdriver for adjustments rather than an allen wrench.

My laser got stuck today, too. My wife and I fired about 100 rounds of Remington Golden Bullets and 100 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags. The total round count has to be over 1000 and this is the first considerable problem I've had. I'll be trying to remove the sight myself and I'll post the results.

Probably help if you guys posted a good, sharply focused close up of the metal clip that holds the laser on. Broken, bent or otherwise. There has got to be a way to remove a damaged one. Insert something, drill small hole, something... I'd like to see a picture. M1911

Good sharp ones with an explanation of how the catch works, how it is supposed to release. Probably figure out something to get these off. M1911

Talking Removing Broken Laser from Walther P22

Hey everyone,
This is my first time posting on here... I fell victim to the same problem... I did find a quick and easy solution. So, I figured it would be a good idea to register and post a solution to help anyone else who may have come across this issue.

Hope this helps and saves people time, and keep people from having to send off their firearms.

Good luck

Thanks for watching/reading!
