Your's is feeding the last round nose into the top of the chamber too or stove piping. I'd have to say this is still a magazine problem. Barrel tight, frame tight? Usually the only thing left is the magazine. Proper function of the mag is as important as any other part on a semi auto any firearm.

For the record, I never had an feed problems with the lower lip of the chamber.....I just ran out of stuff to fool around with one day and polished the lower chamber entrance. Was easy to do, looked good so I did a thread on it. But I never had any rounds, even hollow points hanging on it. I'll see about posting a picture of the last round sitting in a properly functioning mag and some measurements. M1911

It was the magazines

I called Smith & Wesson and described the problem to their customer service. They shipped me 2 new magazines which I got the chance to test this weekend. Both new mags fire all 10 rounds without any failures. I put about 150 rounds through the pistol with no failures.
I was surprised and pleased with the service and response and in fact I bought another S&W pistol this weekend, choosing this over a different manufacturer I had been looking at.

Magazines are extremely important to the proper function of any semi auto which is why everyone should think twice before modifying one. Clean, knock off any burrs, relube. Stove pipes, rounds jumping out of the pistol unfired, nose of a round shoved into the upper chamber.....nearly always magazine problems. Glad S&W took care of you. They usually do. Safe shooting.
