There is a Ruger section at RFC with a lot of discussion regarding this pistol. The word is that none of the pistols will come with a threaded barrel. But, at some time in the near future a threaded barrel will be available by separate purchase. I'd rather buy the pistol with a threaded barrel and not have to add a $100 barrel later. But, that is the latest I read about what Ruger is saying they intend to do. M1911

anyone have experience with the Colt (umarex) 1911 .22 gold cup? Or any other reliable plinkers in 1911 full form?

I'm getting scared of trying a p22q and mosquito now, and could use a 1911 frame for a change.

I also like the ruger sr22 but might want a longer barrel...

browning buckmark 7? ahhh so many plinkers

We've had at least two threads on the Umarex/Colt 1911, with photos attached. You can find them via a search.

FWIW, the Browning Buck Mark series pistols and the Ruger Mark series pistols are wonderful and will last you a liftime; you'll be able, in fact, to pass them down to the next generations of shooters in your family.

Thanks, but all of the pictures are down - and they're more picture threads than review threads.

Accuracy in Colt/Umarex vs BuckMark/ Ruger SR22 is drastically different, I assume?

As with any Umarex product, reliability and quality and craftsmanship are more the issue than accuracy. Buy a Browning or Ruger and you'll use it for your lifetime and then pass it along to the next generation. You can't say the same with the Umarex pistols.
