I have a feeling since the M&P22 is actually made by Walther and not Umarex that is will be more or less troublefree. So far from following it on the S&W forum there have been very few if any problems reported. I haven't shot mine yet due to the weather, but examining it shows typical Walther quality. |

Are we sure that it's made in Ulm by Walther and not made in Koln by Umarex?
Rental Gun Stress Test Part 2: S&W M&P22 | Gun Nuts Media http://thrumylens.org/featured/revie...-mp-22-pistol/ S&W M&P22 .22 Pistol | The Firearm Blog Smith and Wesson’s M&P .22 Pistol – Half Cocked? | The Truth About Guns It's getting decent reviews, but I have my suspicions that it's not a Ulm-made pistol; the Ulm plant isn't producing anything in .22 these days, to the best of my knowledge. You might want to check the proofs on the gun. I'd wager that it has a Koln stamp (as does the P22 and PK380) and not an Ulm stamp. |

Ruger is just about the only American 22LR handgun manufacturer that you can be sure it was made an assembled by the name stamped on it.
Browning might be another one, does anybody know for sure? |

Had a break in the weather and shot the S&W M&P22, I'm happy to report the pistol was a joy to shoot, totally reliable and very accurate. Here's a 20 shot group shot at 15 yards offhand using Federal 710s.

I don't remember the last gun that Browning made themselves; if there ever was one.
FN, Miroku, Beretta and SIG/Sauer have all made guns for Browning. There are probably others that I've missed.
