I doubt it. This was the only photo they needed to see to draw a conclusion. Or by firing one or two themselves.

When I sent Remington my replacement cost dollar amount, I also asked if they could send me a couple boxes of golden bullets. I was pleasantly surprised when a package from Rem show up at my door.

Thinking about what M1911 and others had to say

that is a lesson for all of us
I had to laugh when I got the package open ... We should all feel so much better now that even Remington learned from this

New and improved, yea! Improved in what way? I hope they figured out how to make every round go bang, and the right kind of bang. Kinda like, oh I don't know, CCI MiniMags?

Better that, I'd guess, than a stamp on the box that says:

"We know they don't work, but by god we're gonna stick with the old formula anyway!"

I actually had a bad Golden Bullet today. The gold stuff that covers the bullet dripped down onto the brass case about an 1/8 inch and was then crimped. The drip was not flat so the round jammed in the chamber and the slide wouldn't close. I had to dig the round out and then noticed the drip. I peeled up the drip and wiggled it until it broke off. The case was dented were they crimped the drip into it. I threw it back in the gun and it worked fine. Otherwise everything was great.

Too bad the Winchester ammunition engineer wasn't free to talk. I think we could have all learned something about .22 ammo without him giving away any trade secrets. Cokeman, that almost sounds like lead that was coated with the brass wash.....but prezackly how they brass wash and what it is...would be interesting to know. M1911
