I'm on my way to my next gun purchase and wanted to know if anyone had any negative experiences with the Kimber TLE II in the black finish. I don't believe the TLE II has the Kimpro II finish so it's not as strong as the higher end 1911's. Right now I'm leaning toward Stainless due to ease of cleaning and resistance to sweat and outside humidity, but I'm still undecided.

I don't have any first hand knowledge about Kimbers, and I love stainless finish on guns. So easy to keep clean. For a carry gun I prefer a black finish, Black gun in a black holster against a black undershirt, and a black belt. Even if my cover shirt rides up or blows open some how, it is almost impossible to see. Ed

Even though my Kimber is stainless, when I used to carry that, I had put the Pacmayr American Legend grips on it, and it was a dark wood with a black rubber wrap around grip, and even if shirt somehow rode up, it was the same as yours, nearly impossible to see. Even if you did glimpse at it, you couldn't really tell what it was by the time I got my shirt back down.

RKguns.com Rural King. Best prices, but availability in this sham-demic will be iffy. None of the places I can see have them. Next time I am out visiting the in-laws with the little lady, I will sneak over to the LGS there and see if they have any stashed away.

I am on the hunt for an Ultra Carry officer’s model.
