Congrats on the 84. I have a thing for older Berettas (the 84 has been around for awhile) with the open top slides. Lots of style and class going way back to my 1934, 1935, 1946 418, 1953 (or is it a 56?) 418, and more recent Model 70S.

One of these days I will sneak up on an 84.

All of those Berettas are nice guns. The older models are not as sophisticated as their Walther contemporaries, but they are simpler, generally more rugged, and equally serviceable.

My little 948 in .22LR with light alloy frame is a treasure.

Decades ago a good friend of mine got hold of a 948 Beretta with real MOP handles. It was a beautiful pistol. He passed away soon after and I never got the chance to shoot it - still if I saw one today I would grab it up instantly!

Now that my PPK craving has been satisfied, (for now, anyway) I'd like to have one of these Cheetahs. There is an 84FS in my LGS now for $509.00 plus tax that seems pretty nice. I know, there are a LOT of smaller .380's out there for carry, but what's wrong with one of these anyhow?

jframe,
If that is a nib or excellent condition model 84FS Cheetah, do yourself a favor and purchase it! IMHO, the Beretta 84FS is a great .380 acp pistol.

The 84/85FS is by far the best .380 I've ever fired. I missed a chance on a used one in excellent shape that I'm still kicking myself over. Nearly new for $399. GRRRR

It may be marked Browning, but she's made in Italy. BDA380. The first pistol I bought myself over in Germany at the Darmstadt R&G Club in 1982.

BDA with PPK/s.

BDA all by her self. Yes she is wearing Beretta 84 grips as these are not as wide as the wood grips that come on the BDA380's imported into the USA.
