Sub P38 Forum

"The Classics" forum is so full of P38 threads that it is hard to find threads on other classics. Is there any chance of a separare sub-forum for P38s?

I'd support a P-38 section...don't forget P1's though...

After giving this some additional thought, perhaps one path to consider would be to turn the current P5 sub-forum into an all-P.38 category: the HPs and war-time pistols, the post-war P38s and the P38K, along with the P1, the P4, and the P5, which is the last extension of the original P38. The current Classics sub-forum would then embrace the Modells 1 through 9, along with the OSP and the GSP. I'm not certain that those last two Walthers qualify as Classics in the same way that the Modells 1 through 9 qualify as Classics, but we would at least get some separation for those who keep the peas separate from the pork on the dinner plate.

All decisions on this and other similar requests are made by the forum's owner/administrator, by the way.

That would work.

Yep, the P38 series definitely need a home of their own.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing the PP/PPK's having an exclusive sub-forum . . . . with maybe the TP series bunched in with the Models 1-9 or the Walther Rimfires.

I happened across a 1968 TP in .25 acp this weekend. It certainly doesn't look like it belongs with the PP-series. The TPH on the other hand looks like a tiny PPK. Decisions...decisions...

I like the way the P-38 forum has it with WW2 P-38s in one location and postwar in another. However, I wonder if we have enough WW2 P-38 owners to justify that kid of split.

And that, too, is an issue for some thought, though it does work well for the folks at the P.38 Forum. Milspec is correct: Decisions, decisions ...

I'll send a link of this thread to the site's owner/administrator for his consideration. I personally think that it would make sense to expand the P5 section to include all forms of the P.38: military, post-war, P1, P4. That would clear the way for the current Classics section to incorporate the Models 1 through 9 pistols and the OSP/GSP and various other Olympics models and their offshoots.

We'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the good suggestions, folks.

Nice one Milspec. That's a pistol I have on my "want" list. If you get time post some pics. I'd love to see them.
Meanwhile back at the ranch. I too would prefer to see the P-38 family separated to it's own section. Seacher's suggestion of having the entire P-38 family tree there makes perfect sense. The Classics section is a bit busy as it is now. ~J

An email was sent earlier today to the site's owner/administrator, Brandon. We'll see if he has any thoughts and then go from there. Thanks again for your good thoughts on the idea, folks. It's what makes this forum great.
