Profanity

We've been spotting an outbreak of profanity in a variety of posts and from a wide variety of members during the past couple of months, for whatever reason, currently unknown. For the most part, it's been left alone or addressed with a brief PM (although not all of you have PM buttons activated). None of us are prudes, and it's not as though we haven't seen or heard the words before. But do know that it's offensive to some, and a few additional PMs have been passed back and forth because of it.

Without leaping on an unnecessary high horse, let's let this stand as a gentle reminder that the general decorum of the Walther Forums dictates that you be both cautious and judicious in your choice of vocabulary. If you wouldn't shout it in your Grandmother's ear or let it fly from the Sunday pulpit, then it's best left on the cutting room floor before it ever sees the light of day here.

(As an aside: The pulpit might be the place for invocations of the diety, but these, too, are best left off the board and in your posts and threads; such references offend many members, as we are reminded many times over when they appear.)

Thanks in advance.

The addition of the PPQ has brought an influx of new members, always a welcome sight, though it's also become apparent that some may not know about the forum's preferences regarding profanity. So let's light that lamp once again. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

One more reminder. We've noted some efforts at creative spelling of late, which don't at all disguise the intent of the poster. We've also received a number of complaints from folks of late, for a variety of reasons ... including that youngsters often read the forum over dad's shoulder. Tempting as it may be, let's leave words of the four-letter variety at the door. Thanks again.
