As a benchmark, dry firing about 300 times took about 6/8ths of a pound off the trigger pull. I then measured the trigger to 8.5lbs. Swapping the spring with a stock Glock spring I had laying around (one that had about 200 rounds through it) netted me a trigger pull in the mid 6's. Basically, the Glock spring took 2lbs off the trigger pull. If you can get the Wolf spring to shoot reliably, you would be around 5.5lbs. Not too bad. I still wish I would have purchased an AS though.

What a great post!! I shoot IDPA with my P99 and I love the gun. I bought a glock spring last fall and finally installed it. It took less than 15 minutes, and the instructions were perfect!
Cant wait to try it out! Thanks!!! |

PPQ Spring
So as I'm reading this post I got to thinking. Has anyone used the 5.6lb spring from the PPQ in their QA??

Edit: I found someone on post here who has a QA and doesn't like the trigger. We just ordered a PPQ trigger spring. Should know by Mon or Tues if it all works out alright. Keep everyone posted!

Installing the PPQ Spring
![]() So I found a friend with a P99QA that he has allowed me to play with his trigger on. ![]() If you've gone through this post, this picture is redundant, but this is where the trigger spring is located. ![]() Side by side comparison of the springs, you can see that the PPQ spring is a flat wire spring, but in all other respects looks identical. PPQ part number is 2624338 - Trigger return spring. ![]() I used a hook to stretch the spring and attach it in place. Function tested, and there is a noticeably lighter trigger. Range report to follow today after lunch. Taking the owner out to get his take on the change over.

I've shot at least 2000 rounds through this gun, half of them reloads and never had a light primer strike before changing the spring. I've got an IDPA classifier in three weeks. I'll probably put the original spring back in. |
