Walther P1 Questions, New Member

Hi I'm a new member here from Kentucky. I recently purchased a P1 from Centerfire Systems in Versailles. The slide says it was made in 1982. It also has many markings on the frame that show it was reworked in 2/85, 10/90 and 4/98. There are also two circles with dots in them. One ont he left side of the slide and one under the barrel. It seems that the slide, barrel and frame are all matching and there are also some other markings I'm unfamiliar with. There is also a circle with a dot in it beside a Bw over the trigger. On the right side above the trigger there is also a box with what appears to be an eagle but I can't tell. It seems to be in overall good condition I was just wondering if anyone could give me more info on this pistol. I'm curious as to who used it and what was reworked. It came with three mags and a holster that says 8 1980 1041 A in it. Two of the mags are Walther mags and one looks like it has an NSN number on it and the third mag is blank and has holes only on the right side. I'm also curious as to who made that mag. Thanks

all markings are factory made and your gun was built in Germany.
the gun is used in Germany by the Army and some police dept. but then dropped
in the late1980's when Sig and H&K started mass production.
Mine is built in 1964 and was my duty gun in Germany, she shoots today still like new.

Your P38/P1 was originally made in the late 1950's. It was reworked several times at the Bundeswehr depot at St. Wendel where the frame, slide, and barrel were replaced with new parts.
