The bore, I'm afraid, is trashed. The water finished what the corrosive ammo set in motion 7 decades ago.
I have contacted MG mike, and he has a blaster barrel for $100 bucks. I would love to shoot this one when it's all said and done, and may well do so with the original barrel a few times. My grandfather lost his life in 1945, and was posthumously awarded the purple heart which I still have. 3 generations later we still have a member of that same bloodline wearing clothing given to him by Uncle Sam. This fella was able to kick ass, and take a piece of his enemy home with him! I admire him for that alone. Regardless of what it turns out to look like, it will be a valued addition to my possessions. appreciate all the great input here! |

She is a good honest display piece. I would put it back together and display it in all its glory. If you plan on shotting it get the other barrel and have fun.
